Donna Wetzel Obituary

Donna Marie Wetzel 69, of Jamestown, ND went to her heavenly home on Wednesday February 21, 2024, surrounded by her family at home.

Donna was born on September 24, 1954, to Lloyd and Pearl (Heiden) Erickson in Jamestown, ND. She attended Tappen Public School and graduated in 1972.  She married the love of her life, Douglas Wetzel on December 15, 1972.  They made their home in rural Pettibone, ND on the Ted DeKrey farm.  They raised their family there for 29.5 years. Donna was a stay-at-home Mom and enjoyed raising her children.  She loved taking care of her flowers and planted big gardens every year.  She taught her kids how to cook, bake, can and preserve all the garden produce & made jelly with plums, rhubarb, and chokecherries.  The kids ate more fruit than they picked sometimes.

In 2001 they moved to Jamestown, ND where she resided until her passing. She was a housekeeper at High Acres Manor for a few years and enjoyed visiting with everyone.  Donna then worked for Mastel’s Heating & Air in the office until they closed. She then volunteered at The Orphan Grain Train and loved to play pickleball 2 days a week. She was very active and loved to go walking with family and friends.

Donna was extremely passionate about her faith in Jesus and enjoyed participating in church groups such as BSF and their Life Group.  She also enjoyed performing in the Passion Play each spring for the last few years. She was quick to share her faith with friends and family alike. She was a great example of dedication and servitude to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
