Anson Rosenbaum

Anson Rosenbaum, 85, Pingree-Buchanan, North Dakota, died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown.

Anson was born March 18, 1924 in Pingree, ND, the son of John and Teolene (Nelson) Rosenbaum. Anson attended school at Buchanan. As a young child, Anson was inspired by the sights of farming on the Great Plains as he watched the men, horses and machinery work the land on his way to and from school. He left school after the 8th grade to work with his parents on the family farm. He married Evelyn Starkenberg on March 18, 1948 in Stutsman County, North Dakota. The family was active in 4-H and showing livestock at the Stutsman County Fair for many years. Anson and Evelyn's greatest joy was the years spent raising their children. Anson enjoyed the life the land gave him and was always willing to share that which brought him so much happiness.

Anson remained on the land he was born until he moved to Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown in 2005.

Anson is survived by his daughter, Judy (Donald) Goldade, Springreen, WI; six sons, John (Linda) Rosenbaum, Lake Havasu City, AZ, Charles (Ellen) Rosenbaum, Sandy, UT, Steven Rosenbaum, Las Vegas, NV, Ted (Laurie) Rosenbaum, Fargo, ND, Eric Winter (Lori Eckman), Pingree, ND and Scott Winter, Fargo, ND; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one son, Anson Paul; and his parents.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the Hi-Acres Manor Chapel, Jamestown, with Chaplain David Fisher officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Burial: Pingree Cemetery, Pingree, North Dakota
