Arnold Wahl

Arnold Wahl, 87, Jamestown, ND passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Ave Maria Village Nursing Home, Jamestown, ND. Arnold Wahl was born January 29, 1928 in Lincoln Valley, ND to Jacob and Ida (Hieb) Wahl. Arnold lived and attended schools in the Denhoff area. He was inducted into the Armed Forces in April 1946 at Fort Snelling, MN and served in the occupation of Japan. He earned the Victory of War Medal & Army of Occupation Medal, Japan. Arnold was honorably discharged in October 1947. After his discharge he worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad & Burlington Northern Railroad in many capacities, retiring in April 1990 after 42 years.
He married Polly Otto on October 14, 1950 in Jamestown and they made their home there since marriage. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 768, Jamestown Srs. Bowling Assn. & Hillcrest Golf Association. He loved golfing, bowling, pinochle, and watching his sons and grandchildren participate in various activities. Arnold also enjoyed doing carpentry work and taught his sons the fundamentals of hard work. He loved his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, Craig (Ann), Edina, MN, Steve (Mary Pat), Jamestown, Doug (Wanda), Jamestown; Warren (Christine), Jamestown, Ted, Shoreview, MN, Kory, Bismarck, ND; daughter-in-law, Char Wahl Saxon (Dale), Mahtomedi, MN; 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Kendall; two brothers, Jack (Carole) and Mel. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Wade, two daughters-in-law, Sheila & Corinna, five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Monday, June 22 at Victory Lutheran Brethren Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Shawn Bowman, officiating.
Visitation: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, June 21 at church.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Sunday, June 21 at church.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens
