Christie Elizabeth Morgan, 60, Jamestown, North Dakota died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Jamestown Hospital.
Christie was born on June 7, 1949 in Apple Valley, California, the daughter of Conrad and Louise Walter. She attended nursing school in Los Angeles and upon graduation served as a head nurse in several Los Angeles hospitals. She moved to Orange County, California, where for 17 years she managed a pulmonary practice with Dr. David Law in Laguna Hills, CA. She married Phillip Morgan on September 17, 1983 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Laguna Beach, CA. Kelly Louise was born on December 4, 1987. Christie retired from nursing in 1994 and the family moved to Jamestown, ND. Christie worked for Jamestown Public Schools, Buffalo Valley Special Education Unit and most recently served as a teacher's assistant at Roosevelt Elementary School. She had also managed Ben Franklin crafts at Jamestown Mall and worked at the Alfred Dickey Public Library. During the summer months she worked at Blockbuster Video.
Christie was a member of the United Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and Stephen Minister. Christie had a passion for the art of bead weaving, water color, pencil drawing and arts and crafts of all kinds. She also enjoyed music and provided overwhelming support to her husband, Phil, as a musician and song writer. She was a wonderful mother who provided nurture and care to her daughter, Kelly. She was deeply loved by her husband and daughter.
Christie is survived by her husband, Phil, and daughter, Kelly, both of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, August 28, 2009 at the United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown, with Pastor David Thompson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Care and Share Supper fund at the United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown.
Arrangements are with Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
