Craig Woodward

Craig Michael ""Woody"" Woodward, 61, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, December 20, 2010 at Jamestown Hospital, after suffering a heart attack at work.

Craig was born July 29, 1949 in Jamestown, the son of Dr. Robert S. and Bette (Harrison) Woodward. He grew up and attended school in Jamestown, graduating from Jamestown High School in 1967. He attended the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks and Jamestown College. Craig was a partner in Gun & Reel Sports, where he had worked since 1973.

Craig was very active in the Elks and was a past exalted ruler in 1986. He also spent many years as a volunteer fireman and as a member of the Drum & Bugle Corp. Craig enjoyed all sports and especially enjoyed game days at \""Woody's Porch Bar & Grill\"" with his buddies. Craig was an Exalted Elks Ruler in 1986 and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler of the Eastern North Dakota District in 2000. He was an Elks Ritual team member and judge for many years. Craig was a volunteer fireman in Jamestown for years and in Plant City, FL.

Woody was a proud member of the JHS Class of 1967. He was an active planner for all of the Class of 1967 school reunions. He loved playing football and played for the Blue Jays. Woody was the type of teammate that rallied around his fellow players, encouraging team spirit and sportsmanship. He continued to be a fan of Blue Jay and Jimmie Athletics and enjoyed spending time with the coaches and athletes.

Craig is survived by his brother & sister-in-law, Rob and Danielle Woodward, Jamestown; sister & brother-in-law, Kim and Vern Decker, Cody, WY; two nephews, David (Texana) Woodward, Sierra Vista, AZ and Jeremy (Erika) Decker, Powell, WY and their children, Wyatt, Kaitlyn and Colton; and one niece, Becky (Andy) Perkins, Lovell, WY and their children, Rylee, Shawn and Addisyn; Katherine \""Aunt Babe\"" Mork, Janesville, WI; and cousins, Connie (Norm) Nuss, Englewood, CO, Barbara (Tim) Cullen and Kathy (Bob) Richards, both of Janesville, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
