Della Brilz, 76, Arthur, ND, formerly of Medina, ND died Friday, October 11, 2013 at Good Samaritan Center in Arthur.
Della Catherine Hellwig was born October 8, 1937 in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Emanual and Gladys (Dewalt) Hellwig. She grew up and went to school in Bismarck, graduating from Bismarck High School in 1955. She married Virgil Brilz on September 17, 1956 in Bismarck. Della worked at the ND State Capitol for a number of years. In 1966 they moved to Medina where they owned and operated the Medina Locker Plant until 1990 when they sold the business. Virgil became ill and she cared for him until his death in 2002. Della remained in Medina until October of 2010, when she moved to Arthur.
Della and Virgil enjoyed fishing and gardening at home. Della enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles and painting wood crafts that Virgil had made. She also enjoyed playing bingo on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Good Samaritan Center.
Della is survived by her children: Jeff (Janet) Brilz, Hunter, ND and JoEtta (Rod) Davis, Winnemucca, NV; two grandchildren, Stephanie Davis, Denver, CO and Evan Davis, Winnemucca, NV; four sisters, Edna (Virgil) Smith, Carol Rath and Bertha (Doug) Rittel, all of Bismarck and Linda (Charlie) Vincent, Bemidji, MN; special sister-in-law, LaVina Inglish, Medina and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Charles and three sisters, Audrey Wrangham, Shirley Bader and Helen Walleen.
