Edward J. \""Jim\"" Polasky, 66, Jamestown, North Dakota died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.

Edward was born August 23, 1944 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Ralph and Margaret (Etten) Polasky. He grew up in Tappen and attended Tappen schools. He farmed north of Tappen, taking over the family farm. On June 5, 1980, Edward married Elizabeth Dittel in Tappen. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed farming. They moved to Jamestown in March of 1996.

Edward was a member of St. Paul's Church, Tappen, the church council and choir, Knights of Columbus, Lions, and Drama Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Edward is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, Jamestown; two daughters, Renee (James) Ulrich and Andrea Ramey, both of Jamestown; one son, Roger (Carmen) Schroeder, West Fargo, ND; six grandchildren; eight brothers, Albert (Dorothy) Motl and Donald (Nancy) Polasky, both of Bismarck, ND, Edmund (Marilyn) Motl, Fargo, ND, Ralph, Jr. (Janet) Polasky, Ripon, WI, Louis (Mary Ann) Polasky, Winner, SD, Alfred Polasky, Michigan, ND, George Polasky, Chula Vista, CA, David (Patti) Polasky, Fosston, MN; two sisters, Mary (Rey) Johnson, Sabin, MN and Catherine Polasky, San Antonio, TX; and one brother-in-law, Dennis Ziemba, Kingsford, MI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joseph; one sister, Carol Ziemba; and two sisters-in-law, Geomara Polasky and Jeannie Polasky.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Basilica of St. James, Jamestown, with Father Joe Barrett officiating.

Visitation: 12:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.

Vigil: 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Fisher Cemetery, Tappen, North Dakota
