Eldora M. Christianson

December 15, 1919 — July 18, 2005

Eldora M. Christianson, 85, Jamestown, ND, died Monday, July 18, 2005 at SCCI

Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Eldora was born December 15, 1919 in Hannaford, ND, the daughter of Swen and Mable (Ronnie) Boe. She grew up in the first home built in Hannaford, the youngest of seven children. She was affectionately known as ""Toots"" by her siblings and

close friends.

Eldora graduated from Hannaford High School before attending business school in Fargo.

On Dec. 18, 1943, she married Russell Christianson of Upham, ND in Oberlin, KS.

Russell served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Following the war, Eldora and Russ settled in Edgeley, ND before making their permanent home -- and countless friends -- in Jamestown, ND starting in 1955.

Eldora worked 20 years for Sears, where she made lifelong friends with many customers and her co-workers, who called themselves ""The Sears Gang."" She loved Jamestown and, along with Russ, joined many local service groups and community organizations. They took great joy in dancing together and surprised friends and family with their grace on the dance floor.

Eldora was a 50-year member of First Presbyterian Church.

In 25 years of retirement, she traveled extensively with Russ. She loved hosting friends and relatives at home, playing card games and bingo. She never tired of shopping.

She relied greatly on a network of kind and longtime neighbors, her church family, caregivers and friends -- of all ages -- especially after Russ passing in 2001.

Her joy and humor that never faded will be deeply missed by her five children, Kay Carpenter, Anaheim, CA; Steve (Linda) Christianson, Woodbury, MN; Randy Christianson, Madison, WI; Kim (Gail) Christianson, Bismarck, ND and Julie (Tom)Munsey, Fargo, ND; six grandchildren (David and Eric Carpenter, Merete and Laura

Christianson and Rita and Sasha Christianson), one great-grandson (Davis Carpenter) and her brother, Orvil Boe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and two sisters.
