Inga Rick

Inga Rick, 98, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, March 20, 2006 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown.

Inga Stamness was born March 21, 1907 in Hillsboro, ND the daughter of Knut and Bertha Stamness. She attended and graduated from Hillsboro High School. She went to St. John's School of Nursing in Fargo, ND, graduating in 1931. On March 24, 1934 Inga married William Rick in Jamestown. She worked as a general duty nurse from 1941 to 1952 at Jamestown Hospital and as Director of Nursing Services from 1952 to 1969 and then retired. William died on January 21, 1975.

Inga was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown and the Central Valley Nurses Association.

She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild.

Inga is survived by her daughter, Beverly Smith of Jamestown; four grandchildren and their children, Randall (Beverly) Smith, great-grandchildren, Travis, Kelly, Shane & Nicole; Vicki (Matt) Walsh, great-grandchildren, Whitney & Kaitlin; Jean (Todd) Tompkins, great-grandchildren, Megan, Ben, Brandon & Alex and James (Kelly) Smith, great-grandchildren, Deven and Elliot; one great-great grandchild, Jordan Smith, one sister, Dagney Murray, Wimbledon, ND and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a great-granddaughter, Jessica Smith; two sisters, Myrtle and Alma; three brothers, Ordean, John & Andrew and son-in-law, Gene Smith.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Friday, March 24, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Dennis Ellingsen officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 23, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota
