Joann Haas

JoAnn Marie Haas, 48, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Sunday, October 17, 2010, after a sudden reoccurrence of cancer at Sanford Health Center in Fargo, North Dakota.

JoAnn Marie Geffre was born February 11, 1962 in Wishek, North Dakota, the daughter of Tony and Barbara (Schatz) Geffre. She graduated from Napolean High School in 1980 and attended David's School of Hair Design. On March 2, 1984 JoAnn married Dean Haas in Bismarck, ND. They moved to Jamestown in 1987. She was employed by First Community Credit Union, Jamestown, for 14 years and at the time of her death she was employed at Jamestown Hospital as a receptionist and in the emergency room.

She was a member of the Basilica of St. James and the Relay for Life.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Dean, Jamestown; four children, Crystal (James) Hovda, Jamestown, Daniel Haas, Orlando, FL, David Haas, Jamestown, and Catie Jo Haas, Jamestown; one grandson, Jameson Hovda, Jamestown; mother, Barbara Geffre (Warren Papke), Bismarck, ND; six brothers, Deacon Tom (Mary) Geffre, Jamestown, Jim (Char) Geffre, Surprize, AZ, Tim Geffre, Salt Lake City, UT, David (Sheila) Geffre, Colorado Springs, CO, Duane (Gloria) Geffre, Fargo, ND, Pat Geffre, Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Kathy (Mike) Aller, Tacoma, WA, Marvy (Gary) Frafjord, Moville, IA, and Sue (Kent) Haas, Jamestown; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Kenneth.

The family prefers memorials to the Roger Maris Cancer Center.
