It is with deep sadness that the family and friends of Stanley James Oster, 57, Valley City, ND, announce his passing on Saturday November 3rd, 2007 at Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND after a courageous battle with a rare illness.
Stanley Oster was born June 3, 1950 in Jamestown, ND, to Marion (Clemens) and James Oster. Stanley graduated from Jamestown High School in 1969. He then joined the U.S. Navy.
Stanley enjoyed his life time work as a scrap metal dealer until his passing.
Stanley loved his children, grandchildren, family and many friends.
Always an optimist, a joy to be around, he had the gift of gab and could light up a room with his quick wit and easy smile.
A kind, gentle and giving soul who touched all he met, we will miss our sweet Angel.
Stanley is survived by his mother Marion Oster of Jamestown, ND; sons Quincy (Mona) Oster of Seattle, WA, and Justin (Mariya) Oster of Chicago, IL; daughter Jennifer Oster of Fargo, ND; grandchildren Tylor Oster of Fargo, ND, Aidan and Eleanor Oster of Chicago, IL, and expected grandchild of Seattle, WA; and long time love Christine Olson of Valley City, ND; brothers Paul Oster (Nicole) of Bismarck, ND and Bruce (Betty-Jo) Oster of Jamestown, ND; sisters Colleen (Mike) Dronen and Charlene Schmitt both of Jamestown, ND; special cousins Mike and Jeff Oster of Jamestown, ND; and dear friends Paula Griffen and Andy Anderson of Valley City, ND.
Stanley was preceded in death by his father, James Oster, and brother, Gail Oster, both of Jamestown, ND.
Memorial Service: 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown with Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.
