Abbie Schmidt

Abbie Schmidt, 92 Jamestown ND died Wednesday May 24th 2017 at Heart of America Home for the elderly in Rugby ND.

Abbie was born March 24th 1925 at Fox Valley Sask. Canada, daughter of Emanuel and Emma Sayler. She grew up on the family farm at Fox Valley Sask. Abbie was one nine brothers and sisters. After a pen pal court ship she married Arnold Schmidt on June 1st 1948. They made their home on the family farm NW of Woodworth ND until 1968 when they moved to Jamestown where they operated Schmidt Radio and TV until their retirement.

She is survived by 3 sons, Marlow (Marcella) Schmidt, Mark (Mary) Schmidt both of Jamestown and Merlin (Renee) Schmidt Minot, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 sister Delores Tkachuk, 2 brothers Leo and Leslie Sayler, Alberta Canada.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, June 2, 2017 at Eddy Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Thursday at Eddy Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Highland Home Cemetery.
