Adeline Ferguson

Adeline C. Ferguson, 93, of Jamestown, ND, formerly of Ypsilanti, ND, died Sunday, June 29, 2003 in Jamestown.

Adeline Rosendahl was born December 28, 1909 the daughter of Albert and Clara (Thompson) Rosendahl. She attended school in Ypsilanti graduating from the 8th grade, then attended and graduated from Jamestown High School. Adeline graduated from NDSU in 1934 with a degree in Home Economics. She lived in Steele and Medora, ND doing social work for the US Government during the Great Depression. Adeline married L. Lee Ferguson on June 17, 1937 in Miles City, MT. They lived in Medora for two years helping Lee's parents operate the Rough Rider Motel. They moved to Ypsilanti where they owned and operated the Ferguson Grocery store until 1980. Adeline also taught for the Jamestown School District from 1961 until her retirement in 1975. They enjoyed traveling, square dancing, and family and friends. Lee Ferguson died March 19, 1997.

Adeline was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Ypsilanti Lutheran Church and, later, Immanual Lutheran Church, Sons of Norway, Alpha Cappa Delta, and 4-H, for which she attended the National Camp in Washington D. C. in 1929.

She is survived by one daughter, Jean (James) Lahren of West Fargo, ND; one son, Loren (Deronda) Ferguson of Council, ID; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and an infant daughter.

Funeral Service: 10:30AM Thursday, July 3, 2003 at Immanual Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Rev. JoAnne Moeller officiating.

Visitation: Wednesday, July 2, 2003 from 9:00AM to 9:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:30PM Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Ypsilanti Cemetery, Ypsilanti, North Dakota
