Adeline M. Hartman
Adeline M. Hartman died April 26, 2015 at Manor St. Joseph, Edgeley, ND.
Adeline M. (Schrum) Hartman was born November 14, 1919 to Jacob and Christina (Heil) Schrum in Spring Valley Township in Dickey County. She grew up and attended rural school and Edgeley Public School. Adeline met Arthur W. Hartman when she was a hired girl for the Carl Thom family. They were united in marriage on October 13, 1937 at the LaMoure County Court House with Judge Sherman presiding. They lived on a farm near Kulm for a short time and then moved to a farm 13 miles NW of Edgeley until 1949 when they moved to Edgeley. Adeline had a Maternity Home for a few years. She also worked as a waitress, meat packaging at the Edgeley Meat Locker Plant, and store clerk until she retired in 1989. She moved to the Manor St. Joseph in August 2005 and was a resident there until her death. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was active in the LWML. She loved cooking for family gatherings and playing cards with her friends.
Adeline is survived by her children, one son, Rudolph “Shorty” (Helen) Hartman, Edgeley, ND; two daughters, Janice (Emanuel) Templien, Lincoln, NE and Darlene (Gene) Jackson Hanson, Edgeley, ND; two sisters, Carrie Bernhagen, Edgeley, ND and Violet Untersher, Fargo, ND; grandsons, Mark (Donna), Joel (Jessica) & Jered Hartman, Keith and Ryan (Darcy) Jackson, and Kent (Juli) Templien; granddaughters, Robin (Bill) Bilben, Leslie Hartman, Wanda (Martin) Caffrey & Carla (Joe) Dawson; great grandchildren, Spencer & Shelby Bilben, Miranda & Isabelle Hartman, Trent, Gabriel and Griffin Jackson, Trisha (Doug Ullman), Amanda (Ira Olsen) and Marissa Caffrey and Heather (Trevor) Garbers, Brian (Hallie), Mia Simone and Brooklyn Templien, Marla & Jolene Dawson, and Raegen & Taryn Hartman, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Fred, Jake, Ivan, Rynold, Melvin, Johnny, Wilbert and Albert Schrum; sisters, Rosina Schrum (in infancy), Pauline Pahl, Freida Heller, and Irene Geisler; and a son-in-law, Erval D. Jackson.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, with Rev. Alan Eppen officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2015 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley.
Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2015 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley.
Interment : Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley.
