Agnes Christiansen

January 11, 1918 — August 7, 2003

Agnes Christensen, 85, Jamestown, North Dakota, formerly from Medina, ND died Thursday, August 7, 2003 at Jamestown Hospital. Agnes Fisher was born January 11, 1918 at Crystal Springs, North Dakota the daughter of Frank and Lydia (Barry) Fisher. She attended country school in Crystal Springs. Agnes married Clarence Christensen in 1935. They became the proud parents of 12 children during their married life. They farmed north of Medina where they raised range cattle, chickens, hogs and milked cows. Agnes always had a very large garden. Clarence passed away August 2, 1971. Agnes remained on the farm until November of 1991 then she moved to the Gardenette in Jamestown. In February 1999 she entered the Rock of Ages, Jamestown, where she remained until her death.

Agnes enjoyed playing cards, Bingo and visiting with her many friends. She was active in her church Altar Guild and WELCA. She was a life long member of English Lutheran Church, Medina.

Agnes is survived by seven daughters and four sons, Frances Grimm, Bismarck; Ardis (Harry) Hochhalter, Medina; Clarence, Texas; Betty (Marvin) Dahl; Grand Forks, ND; Roy, Honolulu, Hawaii; Mary (Dennis) Giesler, Wheatland, WY; Larry (Mary), Evanston, WY; Gordon (Betty), Medina; Beth (Dan) Snow, Clancy, MT; Crystel (Randy) Miller, Jamestown; Debra (David) Nienow, Kensal, ND; 30 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Alice Schiller, Petersburg, AK. Agnes' granddaugter, Erin Publow, who is serving her country in Iraq, cannot be with us but we keep Erin in our thoughts and prayer also.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence, a daughter, Ruth, grandson Mike Hochhalter, four sisters, six brothers and one son-in-law, Ernest Grimm.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, August 11, 2003 at the English Lutheran Church, Medina, North Dakota with Rev. Robert Pestal officiating.

Visitation: 3:00 to 9:00 PM, Sunday, August 10, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:30 PM, Sunday, August 10, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, North Dakota.
