Agnes Koenig

Agnes Koenig, 93, Jamestown, North Dakota died Sunday, September 21, 2003 at Jamestown Hospital. Agnes was born May 25, 1910 in Menno, South Dakota the daughter of Theodore and Louise (Ott) Liberda. She moved to Jamestown by train in September 1918. She attended school in Paris Township. Agnes married Fred Koenig on June 30, 1931 in Jamestown. They farmed south of Woodworth in Strong Township until 1963 when they retired and moved into Woodworth where Agnes worked at the school. Fred passed away March 10, 1965. Agnes then moved into Comfort Corner for close to twenty years before residing at Rock of Ages, Jamestown. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Woodworth, the Senior Citizens and LWML. She enjoyed quilting, flowers, gardening and singing in the choir.

Agnes survived by six children, Robert (Zelta) Koenig, Fargo; Laura Jean Hochhalter, Woodworth; Leona (Ed) Leapaldt, Fargo; Roger (Liz) Koenig, Woodworth; Shirley (Eugene) Wolff, Jamestown; Jim (Lorraine) Koenig, Cottage Grove, MN, 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, six sisters, one daughter, Alice Mae Koenig, one great-granddaughter, one great-grandson and one son-in-law.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Woodworth, North Dakota with Rev. Mark Schlamann officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Gem Cemetery, Woodworth, North Dakota.
