Alan L. Schmidt

Alan Lee Schmidt, 65, Jamestown, ND passed away on July 18, 2019 at the VA Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota.

Alan was born in Lusk, Wyoming to Leo T. and Georgia M. Schmidt (nee Tucker) on March 3, 1954. He spent the first part of his childhood growing up in Montana, until his family moved to Oregon in 1963. Alan graduated from Myrtle Point High School in 1973, and immediately enlisted in the US Army. Alan also attended two years of college. He eventually found a job as a machinist, using the training he received in the military and ended up in Jamestown, ND.

Alan met his future wife Mercedita Q. Schmidt online and they were married on February 8, 2012 in Digos City, Philippines. Alan enjoyed riding his motorcycle and working on his family’s genealogy.

Alan will be greatly missed by Mercedita, his devoted wife of 7 years, his loving brother, Gary (Dianne) Schmidt, and a great number of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Eddy Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 25 at Eddy Funeral Home with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating. Burial will be in Highland Home Cemetery.
