Albert Brueske

Albert, ""A.D."" Brueske, 85, Wimbledon, North Dakota, died July 18, 2006, surrounded by his family at his home near Wimbledon.

A.D. was born December 18, 1920 in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, the son of Ferdinand and Rose (Connors) Brueske.

A.D. came to North Dakota in his early teens and lived with his aunts at Boxelder Farm. Boxelder Farm had been homesteaded by his grandparents, Albert & Alvina Brueske, in 1881.

He graduated from Wimbledon High School in 1939.

A.D. married Lauretta Flohr on April 29, 1943 in Wimbledon. They lived their entire married life and raised their family on the homestead established by Lauretta's father in 1920. Lauretta died October 7, 2003.

He operated Brueske Feedlot for over 30 years, and was a charter member of the National Cattlemen's Association. A.D. always had great compassion and kindness for all animals that were in his care.

His greatest joy was his family.

A.D. is survived by three sons, Larry (Karen), Prior Lake, MN, Doug (Merri), Jamestown, and Rick, Wimbledon; three daughters, Bev, Jamestown, Diane (John) Schlecht, Waite Park, MN and Judy (Bob) Baumann, Jamestown; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary, Dorothy, and Loretta, all of California.

He was preceded in death by his wife and three brothers.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Friday, July 21, 2006 at St. John's United Methodist Church, Wimbledon, with Pastor Jeff Levy and Pastor Michael Ward officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 20, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Burial: Prairie View Cemetery, Wimbledon, North Dakota
