Albert Guthmiller

Albert Guthmiller, 90, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Eventide Jamestown. Albert Guthmiller was born on the farm rural Pettibone, ND on April 24, 1924, son of Ludwig and Caroline (Guthmiller) Guthmiller. He attended rural school in Petersville Township, ND. Albert farmed with his parents until he married Leah Martin, on December 16, 1945, in Tappen, ND. Albert and Leah farmed near Pettibone, ND until 1956, before moving to the Jamestown area. He worked for various farmers in the Jamestown area until 1962. Albert was employed at the North Dakota State Hospital from 1962 until his retirement in 1989. Leah passed away on May 2, 1983. He married Ella Mertz on June 1, 1985. Albert was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND. He played in several bands throughout the years, most notable was the Ponderosa Band. He had a love for horses, musical instruments, fishing, spending time with his family and dancing. He is survived by his five children, Vernon (Deborah) Kerner Guthmiller, Omaha, NE; Marlene (Will) Traut, Jamestown, ND, Noel (Debra) Hockert Guthmiller, Reiles Acres, ND, Charlene (Barry) Baker, Odem, TX, Penny (Doug) Iverson, Jamestown, ND; 16 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Leah, one grandson, Brady Guthmiller, brothers, Paul, Harold, Lawrence, and sister, Ann Schempp.

Funeral service: 10:30 AM, Monday, April 27, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Suzanne Orlopp, officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 26 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 26 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens.
