Albert C. Horejsi, 89, Jamestown, North Dakota died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.
Albert was born August 4, 1921 in Kensal, ND, the son of Rudolph and Mary (Stekl) Horejsi. He grew up and received his education in the Kensal area, graduating from Kensal High School. He attended ND Agricultual College for one year. Albert entered the US Army on October 3, 1942 and served in the Air Corps division in the European African Middle Eastern Theater. He was honorably discharged on December 3, 1945 and returned to North Dakota. On April 13, 1946 Albert married Lola Whitter in East St. Louis, IL. They lived and farmed in the Kensal area until 1962 when they moved to Pingree, ND. In 1985 Albert retired from farming and did crop adjusting for several agencies.
Albert was a member of the Pingree school board, treasurer for the Pingree Congregational Church and an assessor for Pingree township. He enjoyed card playing, visiting with friends and spending time with his family.
Albert is survived by his wife, Lola, Jamestown; four sons, Raymond Horejsi, North Logan, UT, Albert, Jr (Sharon) Horejsi, Byron, MN, Terry (Marcia) Horejsi, Cottage Grove, MN and David (Mel O'Dee) Horejsi, Pingree, ND; one daughter, Ruth (Joe) Pottner, Lonsdale, MN; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, William, Joseph, Henry and George.
