Albert Neva

Albert Neva, 98, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, November 9, 2009 at his home in Jamestown.

Mr. Neva was born March 28, 1911 at Kensal, North Dakota, the son of Frank and Rose (Stampka) Neva. He grew up and attended school in the Kensal area. He farmed south of Kensal for a time. On July 20, 1938 Albert married Lillian Rude. On January 24, 1943 he was inducted into the US Air Force. He was stationed in Florida and Rapid City, SD before going to France and Germany during WWII. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal, after serving 39 months.

Albert was a buyer for Jamestown Hide and Fur Co. before the service and upon his return he operated a gravel and sand business until he retired in 1975.

He was a member of St. James Basilica, the VFW and the Eagles, all of Jamestown.

Albert is survived by his wife, Lillian, of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; and three brothers.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM, Friday, November 13, 2009 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, North Dakota

Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, North Dakota

Vigil: 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota
