Albert Sebekow

Albert Sebekow, 93, Napoleon, North Dakota, formerly of Medina, died Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at the Napoleon Care Center.

Albert was born November 17, 1912 on a farm ten miles southwest of Medina in Newbury Township, the son of Fred A. and Elizabeth (Enzminger) Sebekow. He attended rural school in Newbury Township and helped on the family farm. During 1934 & 1935 Albert was in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). He worked for various farmers in the area. Albert was called into the armed service on April 13, 1942 and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was discharged on January 14, 1946 at Camp McCoy, WI and returned to the Medina area. He continued to work as a farm laborer until September 1950 when he bought and operated the Medina Dray line for 10 years. After Albert sold the dray line he went into cream and egg buying and sold feed for 5 years. In 1958 Albert bought a backhoe and did excavating and carpentry work for quite some time.

Albert was a member of the English Lutheran Church in Medina and was active in civic affairs. He was City Police for Medina, drove the Medina school bus for six years and was a member of Medina's Fire Department for 15 years. For 10 years Albert was a member of Medina's Wildlife Club and was on the Medina Park Board for 12 years. He served as secretary and treasurer on both boards.

Albert is survived by one brother, Henry, Northwood, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, one brother, one sister, four half-sisters and three half-brothers.

Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at English Lutheran Church, Medina, ND with Rev. Darrel Schulz officiating

Visitation: One hour before service at the church.

Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, North Dakota.
