Albert Trautman, 82, Fergus Falls, MN, formerly of Jamestown, N.D. died Wednesday, January 1, 2003 in Fergus Falls, MN.
Albert Trautman was born February 24, 1920, in Cleveland, N.D., the son of Henry and Wilhelmina (Lutz) Trautman. He received his education in Cleveland graduating from Cleveland High School in 1938. He attended Jamestown College and graduated in 1942.
Albert entered the United States Army on July 16, 1942 at Fort Snelling, MN. He served in World War II in Germany and France and was discharged on May 30, 1945 at Camp Chaffee, AK.
He married Arlene Johnson on December 27, 1948 in Jamestown, N.D., where they made their home. He and other investors purchased the Western/United Autos and Dayton Warehouses in North Dakota of which he was a partner of until his retirement 18 years ago.
He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, American Legion, V.F.W. Post #760, and a life member of Jamestown Elks #995.
Albert is survived by his wife, Arlene Trautman, of Fergus Falls, MN; a daughter and son-in-law, Randee and Mark Remer, of Fergus Falls, MN; a granddaughter, Logan; and a brother, Emil H. (Martha) Trautman, of Jamestown, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, one in infancy, John, Gust, Sam, Paul, and Reinhold; and one sister, Johanna Bollinger.
Funeral Service: 2:00 P.M. - Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jamestown, N.D., with Rev. Terri Akkerman officiating.
Visitation: Monday, January 6, 2003 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, N.D.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery - Jamestown, N.D.
