Alfred Williams, 87, Jamestown, North Dakota died Friday, May 9, 2003.

Alfred was born July 13, 1915 near Leal, North Dakota to Dan and Lillian (Haskins) Williams. He received his education in rural Barnes County schools near Wimbledon, ND.

He graduated from Wahpeton State School of Science in 1937. Alfred married Evelyn Ames in 1937 and they farmed for 35 years in the Wimbledon area. Evelyn passed away February 4, 1969. He moved to Mooresville, Indiana in 1984 and continued to make his home there until moving back to Jamestown in September 2001 to be closer to his family. While living in Jamestown he made his home at the Heritage Center.

He is survived by one son, Don (Karen) Williams of Pueblo, CO, three daughters, Bluette (Jack) Clancy, Thornton, CO, Nancy Schulz, Jamestown and Joann Williams, Eastham, MA, five grandchildren, Jai (Nurys) Williams, Tucson, AZ; Tim Schulz (Marcia' Procopio), Jamestown; Kami Schulz, Jamestown, Cody Williams and Dusty Williams, Pueblo, CO and two great-grandchildren, Jhonaton and Jaileen Williams, Tuscon, AZ, one sister, Mrs. Flora Treitline, Jamestown and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn, one daughter, Shirley in 1963 and one brother, Lowell Williams.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. John's Methodist Church, Wimbledon or the charity of choice. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown. Visitation will be held at Eddy Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 13 from 1 pm to 8 pm.
