Alfreda Lunde, 95, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, August 22, 2011 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.
Alfreda ""Freda"" Sola was born November 23, 1915 in Finley, ND, the daughter of Gustav and Alvilde (Bue) Sola. The family later moved to Cooperstown, ND, where she graduated from high school. She graduated from Valley City State College and then worked for the Griggs County Extension Service until she moved to Fargo and worked for the State Agriculture Adj. Administration and Goodyear Tire until 1947.
On November 8, 1947, she married Palmer Lunde and they moved to Lower Souris Wildlife Refuge at Upham, ND where their first son, Gregory, was born. They moved to Rice Lake Wildlife Refuge at McGregor, MN in 1951 and sons, Paul and Brian were born there. The family moved to Jamestown in 1957 where Palmer and Freda owned and operated Surge Dairy Sales and Service and later Palmer's Lock and Key Service.
Freda was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway. She served as a volunteer at the Anne Carlsen Center for Children for many years.
Freda is survived by her sons: Gregory (Sherryl) Lunde, Los Alamitos, CA; Paul (Kim) Lunde, Jamestown and Brian (Barb) Lunde, Jamestown; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer; parents; two brothers, Maynard and Arnold Sola; and two sisters, Borghild Iverson and Esther Haugen.
