Alice Nelson

Alice O. Nelson, 94, Jamestown, North Dakota, formally of Robinson, ND, died Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown.

Alice was born to Oscar & Alma (Ouren) Madson on June 3, 1911 on the family farm in rural Robinson. She attended country school and married Arthur E. Nelson on June 1, 1931. They farmed south of Robinson until Art passed away in 1978. Alice moved to Robinson and had resided there until she entered the nursing home in 2003. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Bethany WELCA, and Robinson Homemakers.

Alice was known for her good cooking and enjoyed sewing and gardening. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joann & Edward Martin, Robinson; four grandchildren: Charlene (Eugene) Guthmiller, Pettibone, Ron (JoAnn) Martin, Robinson, Marlene (Dan) Wolf, Carrington, ND and Neal Martin, Pettibone; eight great-grandchildren: Janell (Aaron) Lynne, Jenni (Jason) Yoder, Jeremy & Jayden Guthmiller, Braden & Shalee Martin and Landyn & Jordan Wolf and three sisters, Gladys Vollmer, Fargo, ND and Evelyn Schlager and Faye Schlager, Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her son & daughter-in-law, Lester & Carol Nelson, two brothers, Morris & James Madson, five sisters, Hazel Neustel, Marion Sonnenberg, Edna Morton, Helen Neustel & Esther Wehage.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Robinson with Pastor Valerie Kinlan officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 25, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 25, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel

Burial: Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, Robinson, North Dakota
