Alice Jane Neumiller

October 22, 1923 — September 13, 2020

Alice Jane (Brown) Neumiller, 96, of Jamestown, ND, passed away September 13, 2020 at Eventide Senior Living Communities.

Alice was born October 22, 1923 in Chaseley, ND, to Louisa (Evans) and Gustave Brown. She attended Chaseley Antelope School.

She married Lawrence Neumiller in 1944. They made their home on a farm south of Heaton. Leaving the farm took them to Bowdon where they both made a living doing various jobs and Lawrence began on the railroad in 1958. Alice continued at various jobs until they moved to New Rockford in 1962. There she continued to help support the family working at a bakery and dry cleaners. In 1969 they moved to Jamestown. She worked at Baker Boy Bakery, Kings Studio, and for the Jamestown School District as an assistant cook, retiring in 1996. They were divorced in 1978.

Alice continued to reside in Jamestown. She enjoyed retirement playing cards, bingo, dancing, quilting for grandkids, Lutheran World Relief and watching Wheel of Fortune and Price is Right. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran for many years and later joined New Hope Free Lutheran Church.

Alice loved her family and never missed an opportunity to attend family events. She enjoyed cooking, perfecting her recipes of knephla soup, caramel corn, strudel and her beloved apple turnovers.

Due to failing health, Alice moved to Eventide in 2009 where she remained active in the many events and activities they offered.

She is survived by her children Diana Reichenberger, Daryl (Jeanie) Neumiller, Kathleen Fjeldahl, Joleen (Mike) Scott, and Randy Neumiller; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; brother Gerald Brown and sister Jean Larson as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Phyllis (George) Gillespie, sons-in-law Gerald Reichenberger and Kenneth Fjeldahl; great grandsons Jackson & Trey Neumiller; and brothers Richard, Evan, Norman, George and Alvin.

Alice was a generous, hardworking woman who loved her family and was proud of them all. She will be deeply missed.
