Allen Eugene Enger

Allen Eugene Enger, 59, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.

Allen Eugene Enger was born August 8, 1949 in Jamestown, the son of Einar and Rena (VanDyke) Enger. He grew up in the Marion area and graduated from Marion High School in 1967, and from North Dakota State University. On August 28, 1970 Allen married Charlotte Miedema at the Reformed Church north of Marion. He taught for two years at Hazen ND, where he also coached basketball and football. They moved to the Ypsilanti ND area where he farmed for 25 years. Allen retired in 1992, then they moved to Jamestown in the fall of 1997. In July 2002, Allen became a resident of the LaMoure Nursing Home. For the past seven years Allen has been at home at Ave Maria Village, to whom the family expresses sincere gratitude for their care and compassion.

Allen was a member of the North Marion Reformed Church for 55 years, and most recently the United Presbyterian Church in Jamestown. He and his family have always been very proud of their association with North Dakota State University.

Allen is survived by his wife Charlotte, Jamestown; one daughter Tania (Christopher) Poyzer Fargo ND; one son Todd (Sandra) Enger Northwood ND; one grandson, Westin Allen Enger, Northwood; and four brothers, Donald (Beverly) Enger, Valley City ND, Jeffrey (Vicki) Enger, Randy (Joyce) Enger, and Delray (Pamela) Enger, all of Marion ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Sherwin Enger; four nephews, Allen DuVall, Damon Enger, Jordan Enger and Mason Enger; one great-nephew Cassidy Erbele; and brother-in-law & sister-in-law Jim & Marlene Vondergeest

Funeral Service: 3:00 PM Friday, April 3, 2009 at the United Presbyterian Church Jamestown, with Pastor David Thompson officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 5:00 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the United Presbyterian Church.

Burial: North Marion Reformed Cemetery, Marion North Dakota, in the spring
