Almon A. Williams, 82, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Friday, July 20, 2007 at his home in Jamestown.
Almon Alexander Williams was born October 13, 1924, at Trinity Hospital in Jamestown, the son of George A. and Helen (DeNault-Robertson) Williams. He grew up on the family farm in Sinclair township, Stutsman County, ND, and attended country schools in the area. On October 27, 1945, Almon married Deloris Headland in Fargo, North Dakota. He custom harvested in the south for a few years and was a pilot. Almon farmed in Stutsman County all his life and helped repair many things for neighbors and friends. They moved to Jamestown in 1991. Deloris died March 23, 2004.
Almon enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown, where he was a deacon. He was also a member of the Eagles, Bloom Oil board of directors, Klose Elevator board, and Cusator township board.
Almon is survived by four sons, Dale, Tacoma, WA, Mark (Diane), Jud, ND, Wade (Tina), Jamestown, ND, Chad (Barbara), Jamestown, ND; one daughter, Doris (Jerry) Schafer, Albert Lea, MN; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Ernest R. ""Bob"" (Violet Mae), Cleveland, ND, Wilbert ""Bill"" (Marge), Gillette, WY, George P. ""Pick""(Lorraine), Cleveland, ND, Roger, Chelsea, OK; 4 sisters, Harriet (Elroy) Weixel, Pacific Grove, CA, Margaret ""Shug"" (Reinhold) Weixel, San Bernardino, CA, Katherine ""Kay"" (Norman) Aldinger, Jamestown, Robina ""Tiny"" (Alvin) Exner, Ypsilanti, ND; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Derby, Jamestown; one brother-in-law, Ross (Erna) Headland, Medina, ND.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one son, Earl Dean; one great grandson, William ""Will"" Mullenbach; and one brother, James ""Tuff"".
Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown with Pastor David Thompson officiating.
Visitation: 9:00AM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota
