Alpha Walker, 93, LaMoure, North Dakota, formerly of Wimbledon, North Dakota, died Thursday, February 15, 2007 at St. Rose Health Care Center in LaMoure.
Alpha Josephine Miller was born February 26, 1913 near Woodworth, ND, the daughter of Albert and Marie (Nelson) Miller. She attended rural school in Gerber township, near Woodworth. On June 17, 1930 Alpha married George F. Walker in Jamestown. They made their home in Courtenay, ND until 1942 when they moved to Jamestown. They later moved to Wimbledon where they have lived since. George died December 6, 1997. Alpha moved to the St. Rose Health Care Center in LaMoure on April 16, 2004. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, St. John's United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Alpha is survived by two sons, Ernest (Delia) Walker, LaMoure and Ronald G. (Beth) Walker, Hickory, NC; one daughter, Lorene Paasch, Wimbledon; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren and one sister, Sylvia Nutt, Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Tillie; two brothers, Oscar and Roy and three grandchildren.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at St. John's United Methodist Church in Wimbledon with Pastor Jeff Levy officiating.
Vistiation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
