Alta Lee Obenauer

Alta Lee Obenauer, 57, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, June 6, 2005 at her home in Jamestown.

Alta was born on March 9, 1948 in Logan County, North Dakota the daughter of Gust and Iona (Selig) Freier. She graduated from Jamestown High School and attended business college in Bismarck, ND. Alta married Herb Obenauer on April 13, 1968 in Napoleon, ND. She worked as a nurses aid and housekeeper at the Jamestown Hospital.

Alta enjoyed spending time with her family, studying the bible and sharing what she learned with others.

Alta is survived by her husband, Herb Obenauer, of Jamestown and four children; Connie (Brad) Grabill, Douglas, WY, Shelly Obenauer, Cheryl Obenauer and Brian Obenauer, all of Jamestown; one grandson, Tyler Grabill, of Douglas, WY; five brothers, Otto (Phyliss) Freier, Alexandria, MN, Raymond (Stephanie) Freier, Anacortes, WA, Charles (Carol) Freier, Cheyenne, WY, Mark (Brenda) Freier, Apple Valley, MN, and Warren (Elise) Freier, Bismarck, ND; and five sisters, Dorothy (Harlin) Wetzel, Vergas, MN, Dena (Elmer) Ackerman, Litchfield, MN, Amy (Lloyd) Wonnenberg, Mandan, ND, Linda (George) Weed, Sedro Wooley, WA, and Ila Freier, Laurel, MT.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Jamestown.

Visitation: 1:00 to 5:00 PM, Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
