Alvin R. Erbele, 86, Gackle ND passed over Sunday December 4th, 2016 at the Palliative Care Unit, Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND. Alvin Erbele, son of Martin Henry and Ida (Kaldun) was born on Christmas Day December 25th, 1929, at home, delivered by his Grandmother who was a midwife. Alvin was united in marriage to the love of his life Eva Ruiz of New York City, NY on Jan. 14th, 1956 at Metropolitan, Duane Methodist Church, New York City, NY. They farmed in Ketterling Township, Logan County, North of Lehr, ND for 43 years before retiring and moving to Gackle, ND. He loved farming, from sowing to reaping of crops, working with cattle, going to his children’s sporting events, and raising his family. In retirement he enjoyed golfing, traveling throughout the states to see his children and keeping a well-groomed yard. Alvin served in the Army, was a member of the American Legion Post 265 and an active member of the Zion United Methodist Church, Lehr.
Alvin is survived by his wife Eva; his sister, Miriam Fetzer; children, Greg (CeCe), Amy (“J” Lawrence), Boyd (Jeanne); niece/daughter, Bobbi Jo (Pat); grandchildren, Joshua (Jennifer), Matthew (Jasey) and their families, Emmy and many wonderful nephews and nieces.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents Martin Henry and Ida, brothers Harold and Duane.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Zion United Methodist Church, Lehr, ND, with Pastor Sarah Herman officiating.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2016 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Interment: Emmanuel Cemetery, rural Lehr, ND.
