Alvin Schumacher

Alvin Eugene Schumacher, 87, Jamestown, ND, died early Monday morning, January 9, 2012 in a Fargo hospital.

Alvin, the son of Jacob and Mary (Aichele) Schumacher, was born on August 22, 1924. He was educated in a small school in Robinson. Alvin married Deloris Binder and they had two children, Barbara and Ervin. After their marriage ended in divorce, he then met Lorraine Lean and they married on May 16, 1966 in Steele, ND. They had four children, Keith, Bonnita, Bonnie and JoAnne, and Alvin continued to raise his family on the family farm until moving to Jamestown in 2000.

Alvin enjoyed spending time with his family. He trapped, loved to fish, take care of his garden, and do anything outdoors. He also loved making memories playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren. Alvin loved his Bible and read it from front to back, knowing it very well. He also loved watching the Minnesota Twins and didn't miss a game on TV.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Lorraine, Jamestown; six children, Barbara Schumacher, Ervin Schumacher, Keith (Michelle) Schumacher, and Bonnita (Herb) Dewald, all of Jamestown, Bonnie (Patrick) Schlenvogt, Valley City, ND and JoAnne (Kurt) Isakson, LaMoure, ND; five grandchildren, Ashley, Kayla, Kyle, Kade and Zachary; and one sister, Donna Berg, Bismarck, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Alma Remmick and Irene Patzner.
