Alvina Baker, 86, of Jamestown, ND died Friday, April 25, 2003 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown.
Alvina Wall was born April 30, 1916 in Mercer County, North Dakota the daughter of John and Adeline (Schwarz) Wall. She grew up on the family farm and received her education in a country school. Alvina married Harold Taylor on July 5, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN. They made their home in Jamestown. Harold died on March 4, 1970. She married Henry A. Baker on February 14, 1973 in Jamestown. They made their home in Jamestown where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, B.P.O.E. #995, a volunteer for Central Dakota Village for 25 years, a board member of the Stutsman County Memorial Museum, and an active Eastern Star member of which she was a Worthy Matron of the Lady Washington Order #1. Henry died on May 27, 1977. Alvina enjoyed dancing and gardening, especially growing roses.
Alvina is survived by one step-daughter, Sherry Baker of Jamestown, ND; one sister, Lorriane Tejral of Omaha, NE; two brothers, Herbert Wall of Denver, CO and Arthur (Inga) Wall of Forbes, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one daughter, Mildred Otterstter; one brother, LeRoy Wall; and one step-daughter, Mary Hendrickson.
Funeral Service: 10:00AM, Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church, Jamestown with Rev. Dick Boyd officiating.
Visitation: Tuesday, April 29, 2003 from 9:00AM to 9:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
