Amelia Viola Mrozek

Amelia Viola Mrozek, 88, of Jamestown, ND, died peacefully at Eventide at Hi-Acres surrounded by family on Saturday, April 2, 2011.
Amelia Viola Trautman was born June 20, 1922 at Cleveland, ND, the daughter of William and Katherine (Layer) Trautman. She lived on the family farm until 1936 and was educated in Valley Springs Township near Cleveland. Amelia then moved to Jamestown to work for Rusch's Café and the Palace Café. In 1945, Amelia and her sister went to work in the Officer's club at MacDill Field in Tampa, FL. This is where Ralph Edward Mrozek was serving for the US Air Force. Amelia and Ralph were married on September 12, 1945 in Jamestown while Ralph was home on leave from the service. The couple resided in Jamestown where Amelia worked for the Eagles and Elks clubs until her retirement in 1982. The couple had one daughter, Janice Marie. Amelia was a member of the VFW and Eagles Auxiliaries and attended First Congregational United Church of Christ. Ralph and she enjoyed going to church dinners, bus tours, and just the simple things in life, like watching the wildlife outside. Amelia loved watching Twins baseball games on TV. Amelia is survived by her daughter, Janice (Donald) Lindblom, Fergus Falls, MN and three grandchildren, Peder, Guy (Vivi), and Kimberly. She was the last of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2011 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jamestown with Chaplain David Fisher officiating. Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, later in the spring.
