Ann Foxen, 81, Jamestown, North Dakota ,died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Ave Maria Village Nursing Home, Jamestown, North Dakota.

Ann Foxen was born November 18, 1928 in Crystal, ND (Pembina County). She was born to Patrick and Clara Flanagan and given the name Elizabeth Ann Flanagan. She and four siblings attended the Stokesville and Holiday country schools, and Ann later graduated from Gardar High School in Gardar, ND.

Ann met her husband, Howard, in the spring of 1945. Afer dating and corresponding while Howard served in Hawaii in the Marine Corps, they married on November 14, 1949, in a double wedding ceremony. Ann and Howard lived in several different towns in North Dakota and Wisconsin, but spent most of their married life in Jamestown, which was truly home.

Ann was known for her warm loving nature and her dedication to family and friends. She will be fondly remembered as that loving, smiley, self-sacrificing redhead who lived solely to enjoy life and care for and serve her family and friends. She loved cooking, baking, and putting on the coffee pot for company. Ann and Howard also had a special love for Immanuel Lutheran Church. She belonged to church circles and the church choir. She was the sweet little Immanuel cleaning lady for many years.

She enjoyed Howard's guitar playing and singing. She was indeed his greatest fan. When he wrote songs and played for her, she was truly her happiest.

Ann is survived by three daughters, Barbara Gendreau, Valley City, ND, Vickie Heinen and Kathy Taxis, both of Jamestown, ND; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one sister, Colleen Gregoire, Mountain, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Randy; parents; two brothers, Laverne and James Flanagan; one sister, Lois Olafson; daughter-in-law, Yeoung Ju; and son-in-law, Roger Gendreau.

Visitation: 4:30 to 7:30 PM, Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
