Anna Madcke

Anna Madcke, 94, Edgeley, ND, died Monday, February 9, 2009 at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, ND.

Anna Leontina Stickle was born June 18, 1914 on the family farm in Ray Township, LaMoure County, ND, the daughter of Gottlieb and Katherine (Bohnet) Stickle. She was raised on the family farm and attended the Ray Township School #3. She continued to live on the family farm until March 20, 1943, when she married Julius Madcke in Jamestown, ND. They lived north of Jud, ND where they farmed until moving to Edgeley in 1954. Anna kept busy as a homemaker and babysitting her grandchildren. Anna resided at the Manor St. Joseph in Edgeley from 1998 until January of 2008 when she moved to the St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure, ND.

Anna was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Edgeley, ND. She loved to work in her kitchen.

Survivors include 3 children: Alvin (Norma) Madcke, Edgeley, ND; Garth (friend, Jan) Madcke, Pelican Rapids, MN; Lynda (Ambrose) Dunn, Edgeley, ND; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 13 siblings and a daughter-in-law, Betty Madcke.

Funeral - 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, ND with Reverend Ken Ballard officiating.

Visitation - noon to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Interment - Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND
