Anthony ""Tony"" Svoboda, 84, Jamestown, N.D. died Thursday, January 9, 2003 at his home in Jamestown, N.D.

Anthony ""Tony"" was born December 11, 1918 in Goldwin, N.D., the son of Frank Sr. and Antonia (Veverka) Svoboda. He grew up and attended school in Goldwin, N.D.

For many years Tony successfully ran a trucking business in Valley City, N.D. He moved to Jamestown, N.D., in 1966. He married Velma Danzey on December 10, 1966 in Jamestown, N.D., where they have shared there lives together. Tony had his own business T & S Supply for many years in Jamestown. He also worked at Wonder Bar for ten years and Norwest Bank for five years.

Tony was well known and respected by everyone who knew him, for his work ethics, sense of humor, belt buckles, boloties, cowboy hats and boots, but, most of all for his everlasting love for his family. Because of all the treasured memories we shared as a family he will be ever so missed, without him our lives would have been very empty.

Tony was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, N.D. and the Jamestown Eagles.

Tony is survived by ever so beloved wife of 36 years, Velma Svoboda, of Jamestown, N.D.; five children, Charles (Michelle Camacho), of Denver, CO; Marilyn (Bob), of Garfield, MN; Clifford (Donna), of Portland, OR; Bonnie (Duane), of Centerville, MN; Darlene (Lyle), of Harris, MN; three step children, Peggy, of Aurora, Ill; Becky (Tom), of Richmond, MN; Phillip, of Wakefield, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 3 great grandsons; and 4 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Frank Jr.

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. - Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, N.D., with Rev. Doug Opp officiating.

Visitation: Tuesday, January 14, 2003 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, N.D.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens - Jamestown, N.D.
