Antone ""Tony"" Speyers, 75, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, August 24, 2009 at his home in Jamestown.
Mr. Speyers was born October 28, 1933 in Windsor, ND, the son of John and Mildred (Wheaton) Speyers. He grew up and attended Windsor School. He served 5 years in the US Army and after his service in the Army, he served 20 years in the US Air Force from where he retired. He was a veteran of the Korean Confict and the Vietnam War. On March 15, 1958 Tony married Margaret Hagen. She passed away in December 1966. He later married Leona Rudnick. After retiring from the Air Force he drove truck and did various other jobs.
He was a member of the AmVets and the American Legion. His hobbies were going to help work on the farm and calling bingo at the Vets Club.
Tony is survived by six daughters, Roxanne (Ernest) Nitschke, Jamestown, Tracy (Doug) Klein, Aberdeen, SD, Debra Speyers, Fargo, ND, Annette (Gerald) Aberle, Clear Lake, SD, Nicole Mittleider, Jamestown, and Denetta Speyers, Jamestown; two sons, Anthony Joseph Speyers, Fargo, ND and Thomas John Speyers, Jamestown; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Norma Thomas, Kellogg, ID, ElRose (Bill) Hallock, King Fisher, OK, Jennie Mae (Charlie) Rousu, Fargo, ND and Jane (Myron) Hammer, Kathryn, ND; and one brother, Lyle (Bill) Hazer, Brookings, SD.
He was preceded in death by his mother; wife; father; stepmother; and one daughter, Shelly Speyers.
Funeral Service: 9:30 AM, Friday, August 28, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown with Chaplain David Fisher officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: 1:00 PM, Friday, August 28, 2009 at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota
