Ardelle D Loose

September 20, 1936 — December 27, 2019

Ardelle Delores Loose, 83, died Dec. 27, 2019 at the McCoy Hospice Suite at Ave Maria Village, in Jamestown, ND. Ardelle died of pancreatic cancer, four years after being diagnosed. She saw the four years as a blessing, and lived her life to the fullest.

Ardelle Ziesch married Lawrence Loose in 1956. They were married for 55 years. Lawrence, died in 2012. They raised their family and farmed together on the Loose family farm until 2005 when they retired and moved to Jamestown. Ardelle’s favorite farm work was milking cows, gardening and mowing hay.

Ardelle received a teaching certificate from Valley City State Teachers College, and taught school for two years, until she married. She enjoyed teaching very much. She used those skills later by teaching Sunday School and confirmation for a number of years at Redeemer Lutheran in Woodworth. Ardelle was a great organizer and had many volunteer jobs. She also greatly enjoyed her jobs as school treasurer, and a substitute rural mail carrier. She was a civic minded person and involved in most things that happened in Woodworth, and continued that interest when she moved to Jamestown. Work was her favorite activity, but she also enjoyed playing board games, and regularly beating all family members at corn hole at the annual 4th of July party. Ardelle did want everyone to know that she made 862 quilts, including 15 quilts in 2019. Most of the quilts she made were for World Relief.
