Ardis Janice Johnson

June 8, 1935 — July 14, 2019

Ardis Janice Johnson, a faithful witness for her savior Christ Jesus, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2019. At age 84, she passed at her home in Jamestown, ND.
Ardis was born near Woodworth, ND, baptized at Newhome Lutheran Church and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Ardis was a loving mother and involved parent, raising three children in a Christian home. She specially enjoyed watching grandchildren and great-grandchildren learn and grow.
She worked at various banks in Jamestown and was co-owner of the Jamestown Motel between 1976-1980. Ardis taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and sang in the church choir. Ardis had a special place in her heart for her special friends in the Concordia Quilters, LWML and Ruth & Mary Circles. She enjoyed sewing, reading, United States history and loved gardening.
Ardis is survived by her husband of 63 years, Andrew Johnson, children Michael (Kara) Johnson of Minnesota, Craig (Eiko) Johnson of California and Sandra (Robert) Opp of Jamestown.
Ardis is also survived by her grandchildren Tressa (T.C.) Davis of Minnesota, Tyson (Tracy) Johnson of Minnesota, Tali (Jonathan) Biersbach of Fargo, Amanda (Terry) Chadwick-Hollinshead of Valley City, Brandon (Shaulee Iverson) Chadwick of rural Jamestown and Kristi (Mason) Krumwiede of Jamestown. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Alexa Chadwick, Taya Hollinshead, Kaydence Krumwiede, Kayleigh Krumwiede, Karson Krumwiede, Karter Krumwiede, Kaden Krumwiede, Paislee Chadwick, Brylee Chadwick, Svenn Johnson, Penny Johnson, Thea Davis and Kit Biersbach. Her survivors also include her siblings Audrey (Dave) Ebert of Texas, Lois (George) Burger of Florida, Delbert (Mary) Wutzke of California and Roberta (Rick) Luckow of Minnesota.
Ardis was preceded in death by her parents Robert & Hattie Wutzke and great-grandchild Ethan Chadwick.
Visitation will be 3:00pm to 5:00pm with a prayer service at 5:00pm, Wednesday, July 17, at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown. Funeral service will be 10:30am, Thursday, July 18 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Thomas Eckstein officiating. Burial will be in Highland Home Cemetery. Arrangements by Eddy Funeral Home. The family is grateful for the kind care provided by JRMC Hospice in her final few weeks.
