Arlen D. Ronngren

Arlen Ronngren, 78, of Jamestown, ND, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Altru Health System, Grand Forks, ND. Arlen Dewain Ronngren was born October 8, 1932 at Montpelier, ND, the son of Alfred B. and Hazel (Larson) Ronngren. He attended the Manns Township School. Following his education, he began employment as a member of a section crew with the Midland Continental Railroad. Arlen moved to Jamestown where he worked for Bernard Chevrolet Co. as a mechanic. He later worked as a boilermaker's apprentice with the Great Northern Railroad. Arlen married Charlotte Rae Koch on December 18, 1952 at Valley City, ND. They moved to Fargo, ND where he worked as a Fuller Brush Salesman. Arlen worked at other jobs in the area before establishing the Dynakleen Cleaning business in 1962, which he operated until 1987. In 1980, he and Charlotte opened Watkins and Crafts Store at the Buffalo Mall, Jamestown. He later opened a branch Dynakleen operations in Sykeston, Rolla, and Devils Lake, ND. They also started A&C Cleaning, which they operated from 1989 until 1994. Arlen retired in 1995. Arlen moved to Grand Forks, ND in 2003 where he enjoyed retirement and played cards almost every day.
Arlen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown and 30-year member of the Jamestown Eagles Club.
He is survived by five children, James (Judy) Ronngren, Jamestown and Steve Ronngren, Hazen, ND, Kathi (Jeff) Bontrager, Grand Forks, ND, Lisa Ronngren, Jamestown, and Regene Ronngren, Grand Forks, ND; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Prayer Service: 7:00pm, Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.

Visitation: 1:00pm - 7:00pm, Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND, later in the spring.
