Arlene Ketelsen

Arlene Ketelson, 83, Jamestown, ND passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Four Seasons Healthcare Center, Forman, ND.

Arlene Dimitre was born January 8, 1934 in Jamestown, ND to Vangel “Hans” and Leona Dimitre. She had one sibling, Betty Job. In January 1952, Arlene married Donald Bear.

In March of 1971, Arlene married James Bear. In January, 2000, she married Dale Ketelson and together they loved to spoil their grandchildren. They made their home in rural Jamestown, ND.

Arlene’s pride and love for her children and grandchildren was evident, and she was always involved in their activities. She loved children and was a daycare provider, a Sunday school teacher, 4-H leader and a school board member.

Arlene is survived by her husband Dale, 6 children, Donald Michael (Dianne), John Thomas, Dale Laurence, Roberta Marie Tompkins (Mitch), Sandra Denise Metzger, James Sebastian (Heidi), 14 grandchildren (Curtis Bear, Andrew Bear, Dona Schock, Joseph Bear, Heidi Lane, Michelle Tompkins, Paige Tompkins, Karli Tompkins, Aurora Bear, Sebastian Bear, Cecelia Bear, Hannah McInnes, Adrian McInnes and Alex McInnes, 6 great-grandchildren. Arlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her husbands, (Donald Bear, James Bear) one daughter (Betty Lou Bear), and a sister (Betty Job).

Memorial Service will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jamestown. Burial will be in Highland Home Cemetery.
