Arlo Weisser, 75, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown.
Arlo was born July 13, 1935 in Lehr, North Dakota, the son of John J. and Amelia (Schook) Weisser. In 1945 they moved to Verona, ND, where he attended school. He farmed with his parents for many years. Arlo joined the National Guard for nine years and worked for William Collin & Sons Construction. In 1956 he married Eleanor Kallenbach and they later divorced in 1976. He married Leona D. Rudnick Speyers on July 11, 1989 in Jamestown.
Arlo enjoyed playing cards, bingo, watching ballgames on television, especially the Minnesota Twins, and spending time with his friends. He was a member of the AmVets.
Arlo is survived by his wife, Leona, Jamestown; two sons, Randy Weisser, Fargo, ND and Rick Weisser, Detroit Lakes, MN; two daughters, Linda Weisser, Fargo, ND and Shelly (Dave) Sinclair, West Fargo, ND; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; eight step-children, Roxanne (Ernie) Nitschke, Jamestown, Tracy (Doug) Klein, Aberdeen, SD, Debbie Speyers and Tony Speyers, both of Fargo, ND, Nicole Mittleider, Jamestown, Annette (Jerry) Aberle, Clearlake, SD, Tommy Speyers and Denetta Speyers, both of Jamestown; nine step-grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; one brother, Ted (Leona) Weisser, Jamestown; and one sister, Lorraine Rains, Eureka, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one stepdaughter, Shelly Speyers; one brother; and four sisters.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, December 17, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Harlan Kaden officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 5:00 PM, Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Prayer Service: 6:00 PM, Thursday, December 16, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Spring Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota
