Arnold Gerber

June 16, 1919 — December 3, 2003

Arnold Gerber, 84, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at Jamestown Hospital. Arnold was born June 16, 1919 in Napoleon, ND the son of Matt and Anna Gerber. He attended school in Weigel Township, rural Napoleon, ND. Arnie joined the CCC in the Black Hills, South Dakota in the late 1930's. He then worked on a farm near Bozeman, MT. Arnie came back to North Dakota and farmed in Emmons County. He married Lucille Wentz in Glendive, MT. He served in the US Army from 1945-46 in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. After he was discharged Arnie returned to ND and farmed in Kidder and Logan counties. He moved to Jamestown in 1971 where he worked for area farmers. Arnie was united in marriage to Margo Ternes on May 25, 1974 in Jamestown. They resided in Jamestown until his death.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking, working on the computer and going to auction sales with his brother. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown.

Arnie is survived by his wife, Margo, of Jamestown; one daughter, Cheryl (Myron) Rosebrook, Tyler, TX; three step-children, Don (Helen) Ternes, CotoDe Caca, CA, Shelly (Steven) Wickham, Mt. Pleasant, IA and Rita (Jeff) Collen, Cumberland, MD; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;, seven step-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Gerber, Eldridge and Herman Gerber, Fargo, ND and one sister, Sally Rose, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Art and Emil Gerber and one sister, Margaret.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Monday, December 8, 2003 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown with Rev. Donald Crippen officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Sunday, December 7, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 6:00 PM, Sunday, December 7, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
