Arthur Bieber, 89, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown.
Arthur Bieber was born November 2, 1916 in Jamestown to Jacob and Pauline (Heyne) Bieber. He grew up in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School. On August 27, 1939 Art married Hilda Marzolf in Jamestown. Hilda died in 1984. Art operated several small food stores in Jamestown. He also owned and operated Bieber's meat processing plant for many years. Art married Joy Skeel on January 9, 1987 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown.
Art was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Eagles, Elks and Moose Lodge, all of Jamestown. He enjoyed bowling, visiting with people, playing cards, camping and fishing.
Art is survived by his wife, Joy, of Jamestown; one daughter, Dorothy (Jack) Docktor, Jamestown; one son, Daniel Bieber, Sante Fe Springs, CA; a step-daughter, Dr. Laney Skeel, Minneapolis, MN; a step-son, Charlie (Janice) Skeel, Jamestown; a sister, Magdalena Kust, Jamestown; a daughter-in-law, Carol Bieber, Devils Lake, ND; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Hilda and one son, Arthur Bieber, Jr.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, May 8, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Rich Fitzer officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
