Arthur ""Art"" E. Buchholz, 88, died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown, ND.
Art was born May 19, 1919 in Lehr, North Dakota, the son of Jacob and Magdalina (Bertsch) Buchholz. He grew up in the Lehr area and attended Lautt Farm School through 8th grade. He began farming with his father in 1941 and farmed until 1962. Art married Erna George on November 30, 1941 at the Evangelical United Brethern Church in Lehr. They moved to Jamestown in 1962 and Art worked at Jamestown Aviation, Jamestown College and Western Gear for 11 1/2 years before his retirement. He also helped Orr Auctioneers for 15 years.
Art was a member of the Men's Organization in Lehr, the Whoppers Club and St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown. He enjoyed fishing, ceramics and his miniature car collection.
Art is survived by his wife, Erna, of Jamestown; four children, Marcella Marie (LeRoy) Walker, Bismarck, ND, Ronald (Judy) Buchholz, Jamestown, Marsha (Steven) Baisch, Bloomington, MN and Roedell (DeNae) Buchholz, Fresno, CA; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Delbert (Dallas) Buchholz, Gwinner, ND and two sisters-in-law, Helen Buchholz, Lehr, ND and Della Buchholz, Bismarck, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Alvin, Benny and Reuben.
Celebration of Life Service: 10:30 AM, Thursday, November 1, 2007 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Jamestown, with Pastors Gary Ball-Kilbourne and Shawn Bowman officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 6:00 PM, Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
