Arthur Job, 86, Medina, North Dakota, died Friday, May 28, 2004 at MedCenter One Hospital, Bismarck, North Dakota.
Arthur Job was born July 27, 1917 in Streeter, ND to Frederick and Magdalena (Steib) Job. He attended Medina school and a rural school north of Medina. After working at several jobs on the west coast, he came back home and attended a technical mechanic school in Chicago. Arthur then entered the U.S. Army at Ft. Snelling, MN on his birthday in 1942. He served in the European, Africa and Middle Eastern Theater during WWII. He was honorably discharged from the Army at Camp McCoy, WI in November, 1945. He was a SSG. On August 23, 1943, he married Lenora Rau. After he left the service, they made their home on their present farm 7 miles NE of Medina. He worked for Northern Improvement and several other construction companies as a mechanic for many years.
He was a member of the Adam Job American Legion and the United Church of Christ.
He is survivied by: his wife, Lenora, Medina; two sons, Merlin (Margie), Fullerton, CA and Keith (Noel), Colleyville, TX; one daughter, Sherry (Jerry) Ausmus, Baudette, MN; five grandsons, Rory (Susan) Job, Greg (Amber) Ausmus, Mike Ausmus, Brent and Nick Job; one great granddaughter, Kate Job; one sister, Margaret (Albert) Hofmann; two sisters-in-law, Inez Job and Delores (Ken) Reed; one brother-in-law, John (Ursula) Duff; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Adam, Ben, Leo and three sisters, Mary, Ruth and Esther.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at the United Church of Christ, Medina with Rev. Karl Limvere officiating.
Visitation: 2:00 to 9:00 PM, Monday, May 31, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.
Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, North Dakota
