Audrey Steckler, 76, Jamestown, North Dakota died Sunday, July 10, 2005 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown.
Audrey Lavetta Hawkins was born on a farm near Tuttle, North Dakota on April 21, 1929 the daughter of John William and Annabelle Avery (Weed) Hawkins. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1948. Audrey worked as a baker for the White Drug Café for 27 years before retiring in 1975 because of poor health.
She was a member of the Basilica of St. James and the Tabernacle Society. Audrey enjoyed baking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Audrey is survived by a son, Thomas (Vickie) Steckler, Jamestown, two daughters, Linda Rorman, Mandan, ND and JoAnn (Timothy) Klose, Jamestown, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three sisters, Aleitha Dennis, Washington, Annabelle (Virgil) Foster, Prosser, WA and Ethel Burry, Jamestown and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Lester, Orville, Francis, John and Leonard and three sisters, Alice, Wilma and Lorene.
Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at the Hi-Acres Memorial Chapel with Chaplain David Fisher officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home, with the family receiving visitors from 7-8 PM.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
