Barbara Fanta Baer

Barbara Fanta Baer, 94, Steele, N.D., formerly of Jamestown, N.D. died Sunday, November 17, 2002 at MedCenter One Golden Manor Nursing Home in Steele, N.D.

Barbara Hopkins was born August 5, 1908 in Crystal Springs, N.D., the daughter of Elmer and Carrie (Helfenstein) Hopkins. She attended country school near Crystal Springs, N.D. She married George Fanta on November 26, 1926 in Tappen, N.D. They farmed in Williams Township in Kidder County until retiring in 1972, when they move to Tappen, N.D. George passed away on September 25, 1976. She married Reinhart Baer on February 17, 1979, they made their home in Jamestown, N.D. Reinhart passed away on November 2, 1992. She continued to make her home in Jamestown, until moving to Golden Manor Nursing Home in 1997.

Barbara was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, N.D., a active member of the Senior Citizen Center, a member of the Jamestown Eagles and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards and dancing.

Barbara is survived by four children, Ardella (Gil) Voss, of Campbell, MN; Betty (Maynard) Alsleben, of Alexandria, MN; Marilee (Willard) Domier, of Wadena, MN; Donald (Marcia) Fanta, of Tappen, N.D.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; three stepchildren, Duane (Janice) Baer, Linton, N.D.; Stella Carlson, of Davenport, IA; and Quiney Baer, of Hazen, N.D. She was preceded in death by her parents, lst husband, George Fanta, 2nd husband Reinhart Baer, two sons, Norlyn and Kenneth Fanta.

Funeral Service: 1:00 P.M. - Friday, November 22, 2002 at Trintiy Lutheran Church - Jamestown, N.D. with Rev. David Eppelsheimer officiating.

Visitation: Thursday, November 21, 2002 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Eddy Funeral Home Jamestown, N.D.

Burial: Fisher Cemetery - Tappen, North Dakota
